The text of this evening's robo-call -- July 28, 2015

Hello Marshall families,

With just over a week to go before the school year begins again at Marshall School next Thursday morning, we wanted to call you tonight with a a few important updates to help all our students and families as you prepare for the first day of school.  Please note: if you miss any portion of this message, the text of each robo-call is always available on our Facebook page and on the school blog: www.marshallmagnetschool.com

First of all, please keep our daily morning bell schedule in mind.  Our morning bell starts the school day at 8:35 each day.  Students who arrive at school after the second bell at 8:40 will be marked as tardy.  Unless they are enrolled in FACTS, students are not to arrive at school before 8:20 in the morning when supervised playtime on the playground is available.

If you drive your child to school, please always park in the lots across the street and have your children cross the street to the school via our well-tended crosswalks.  Drivers can and will be ticketed by Flagstaff Police for dropping students off in the red zones on both sides of Bonito Street.

New kindergarten parents, don't forget, your students will be released from school early at 12:25 on the first day.  If your child rides FUSD transportation home, you are encouraged to follow the bus to your child's stop and meet them there. All other students will be dismissed at 3:20 on the first day of school.

All Marshall students will be released at 12:25 on Friday, August 7, and every Friday throughout the school year.  Please plan accordingly.  If you care to make arrangements for your student to attend FACTS after school during the week, information is available online at www.fusd1.org and in the school office all year long.

Many school committees and organizations will be meeting for the first time in the coming weeks.  We ask you to consider joining one of these essential groups.  The Marshall PTO, Site, and Science councils all look forward to welcoming you.  Stay tuned for updates on meeting times and dates.

Parents, please complete your annual free-and-reduced-price lunch applications ASAP.  Balances will not be allowed to accrue in our lunchroom and Marshall receives critical funding based on the number of families who receive this assistance.  You may complete your applications using the paperwork that will be sent home with your student on the first day of school or you may do so online at any time at www.heartlandapps.com.  A link to this site is also available on the the school blog: www.marshallmagnetschool.com.
