The text of this evening's robo-call -- Dec. 11, 2014

Hello Marshall families,

We're calling tonight with several reminders about upcoming events and activities which will take place at the school during the last week of school in December.  Please stay on the line for the next couple of minutes to find out all about what's happening at Marshall School.

Please remember: your tax credit contributions make possible all of our one-of-a-kind magnet programs, including an hour of Suzuki violin instruction for all of our kinder, first, and second grade students and our weekly one-hour Magnet Monday electives for our third, fourth, and fifth graders which include Lego League, Chess Club, photo-journalism, ballet folklorico, painting, and creative writing.  Without your tax credit contributions, we will be unable to sustain these unique opportunities, which are offered to all of our students free of charge.  We hope you will consider making your dollar-for-dollar tax credit contribution to the school before the December 31 deadline.  Married Arizona taxpayers filing jointly can donate up to $400 and single taxpayers may give up to $200.  More information about how tax credit works for us and works for you is available on the school blog:

Don't forget: FUSD middle school academy and magnet program applications are now available online at each school's website.  We've also placed quick links to each program's application on the Marshall School blog.

  • We hope you're planning to attend our upcoming Magnet Monday Showcase event on Monday afternoon, December 15th, from 2:10 to 3:10.  Our third, fourth and fifth grade students have worked hard during their semester-long extracurricular classes and are excited to show off all they've learned.  We hope to see you there.

We also hope to see you at our annual PTO-sponsored Cookie Walk on Thursday evening, December 18th. Children will receive tickets to this year's event for logging their reading time and effort.  Please continue to encourage your child to read daily as a part of their after-school routine.  On the evening of the cookie walk, students will also have one last chance to read and receive tickets.  The schedule for the night of the 18th will be as follows:

    • K-2 Reading Time 5:00-5:30; K-2 Cookie Walk 5:30-6:00
    • 3-5 Reading Time 5:30-6:00; 3-5 Cookie Walk 6:00-6:30

Last of all, please don't forget, school will be dismissed at 12:25 on Friday December 19th for our Winter Break.  School will resume on Monday, January 5th.  Second grading period report cards will be sent on on Friday, January 9th.

Thanks for listening everyone.  As always, if you missed any portion of this message, the text is available on our Facebook page and on the school blog:
