The text of this evening's robo-call: October 30, 2014

Hello Marshall families,

We've got several important announcements for you this evening, so please stay on the line to find out all about what's happening at Marshall during the first couple weeks of November.

Our annual Tax Credit campaign begins on Monday, November 3 we will be reminding you several times between now and December 31st to make your contribution to our school.  Remember: your tax credit contribution is a dollar for dollar credit against the taxes you owe the state.  Last year we raised over $40,000 in tax credit contributions, every dollar of which has been used to provide unique learning opportunities and activities to the students at Marshall.  The choice is yours, you can give your money to the state, to be spent who knows how, or you can give it to Marshall School, and we will guarantee it will be spent on your children.  We hope you'll make the right choice.

Our PTO will meet next week on Wednesday, Nov. 5th at 6:30 PM in the Library.  Everyone is encouraged to attend.

Our annual, tax-credit supported, fifth-grade Taiko drumming performances will take place next week.  Our drummers will perform for the public on Thursday evening, November 6th at 5:30 PM in the former Flagstaff Middle School gym.

Don't forget: The school will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th to commemorate Veterans Day.  Monday November 10th and Wednesday November 12th are regular school days.

Finally, please plan to attend our annual Thanksgiving luncheon with your child on Thursday, November 13th.  Our lunch schedules will be somewhat different that day.
Thanksgiving Luncheon Schedule -- Thurs. Nov. 13, 2014
Kindergarten -- 10:50-11:10
First grade -- 11:15-12:05
Second & Third grades -- 11:55-12:35
Fourth & Fifth grades -- 12:25-1:05
Thanks for listening, everybody.  If you missed any portion of this message, the text is always available on our Facebook page and on the school blog, www.marshallmagnetschool.com.

The text of this evening's robo-call - October 7, 2014

Hello Marshall families,

We've got just a few quick, friendly reminders for you this evening, so please stay on the line to find out all about what's happening over the course of the next few weeks at Marshall School.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 8, is Walk To School Day.  Students with signed permission slips who typically ride the bus to school will have the option of being dropped off to walk from the National Guard Armory on Thorpe Rd along with teachers and other chaperones.  Students who cannot hand the driver a permission slip to exit the bus at the Armory will be transported to the school by bus as usual.

This Thursday is Picture Day.  Information about ordering pictures from Lifetouch was sent home with your child last week.

Please remember, next week is Parent Teacher Conference week.  Your child's teacher will be in touch soon, if they haven't been already, to schedule your child's conference time.

School will be dismissed early on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, October 13th, 14th, and 15th, to accommodate our conference schedules.  We will release students at 12:25 on Monday and Tuesday and at 11:10 on Wednesday.  Please plan according.

Finally, we hope you've made plans to spend time with your loved ones during our Fall Holiday.  School will be dismissed all day on Thursday October 16 and Friday October 17 for a well-earned four-day weekend.

Have a nice evening everyone.  As always, if you missed any portion of this message, the text is available on our Facebook page as well as on the school blog: www.marshallmagnetschool.com.

Goodbye.
