The text of this evening's robo-call -- Monday, July 21, 2014

Hello Marshall families,

The first day of school grows ever closer, so please stay on the line for the next couple minutes for a number of important updates in anticipation of the coming 2014-2015 school year at Marshall Magnet School.

The new school year will begin with the first-bell at 8:35 in the morning on Thursday, August 7th.

We'll post classroom assignment lists on the front doors of the school early next Monday morning, July 28th.  Please stop by the school if you're wondering who your teacher will be this year.  As always, please keep in mind that our teachers spend hours and hours at the end of each school year placing every single Marshall student by-hand and with great consideration and deliberation into balanced, diverse, and equitable classes for the coming school year.  We trust that you will give your child's highly qualified and talented new classroom teacher every opportunity to impress you with their talent and ability.

Kindergarten parents, please don't forget: all of our kindergarten students will eat lunch at 10:30 on the first day of school, Thursday, August 7th, and then be dismissed to go home at 11:30.  You're encouraged to be here at that time to follow your child's bus home.  Remember: an adult family-member must always meet our kindergarten students at the bus stop, every day after school, all year long.

Everyone else will be released from school at 3:20 on the first day of school, Thursday, August 7th.  Likewise, on Friday, August 8th, we will dismiss school at our usual 12:25 dismissal time.  After-school child care is available on-site for a nominal fee through the FUSD FACTS program.  Scholarships are also available for families who qualify.  Information about the FACTS program can be obtained in the school office or online at

The school office will be open from 8:00-4:00 daily from now on.  Please stop in or call us at 928 773 4030 if you have any questions.

Thanks for listening.  As always, if you missed any portion of this message, the text is available on our Facebook page and on our school blog:

We're looking forward to seeing you soon!
