The text of this evening's robo-call -- Thursday, May 28, 2014

Hello Marshall families,

On behalf of the entire faculty and staff at Marshall, I'd like to thank you for being a part of our community during the 2013-2014 school year.  We've had a great time working with your children this year and we appreciate your entrusting them to us each and every day.

We're calling tonight with just one reminder: tomorrow is the last day of school and, as a result, we will release students early, at 12:25.  Thanks for planning accordingly.

Lastly, we hope you all have a wonderful summer, filled with good times and the material of happy memories.  We'll see most of you back here at Marshall on Thursday, August 7th.

Goodbye.

The text of this evening's robo-call -- Thursday, May 22, 2014

Hello Marshall families,

Well, the last Friday and the last Monday of the school year are behind us, and after our long weekend this weekend we've only got two-and-a-half days of school left on our calendar.

Don't forget: School will be dismissed tomorrow, Friday, May 23rd, another unused snow-day, and again on Monday, May 26th, due to the Memorial Day holiday. We hope you're able to spend time with your loved ones doing fun stuff over the course of the next several days.

The last day of the school year, next Thursday May 29th, will be an early release day. We will dismiss school at 12:25 on Thursday the 29th. Report cards will go home with students that day. All other personal items and schoolwork will be sent home with your students before the last day of school. Please DO NOT send backpacks to school on the last day of school.

Thanks for listening everybody.  As always, if you missed any portion of this message the text is available on our Facebook page and on the school blog: www.marshallmagnetschool.com or by calling 1-855-4REPLAY.

The text of Friday evening's robo-call -- May 16th, 2014

Hello Marshall families,

The school year is quickly drawing to a close.  That means there's a lot of stuff happening at Marshall School over the course of the next couple of weeks.  Please stay on the line to learn about all about what's coming up.

Monday, May 19th, will be our annual all-school barbecue.  Please plan to bring a blanket and to eat on the grassy field with your child.  Kindergarten and first graders will be served at 11:15, second and third graders at 11:45, and fourth and fifth graders at 12:15.  Pulled pork sandwiches and hot-dogs along with baked beans, slaw, cobbler and all the condiments will be served.

Also on Monday the 19th, we will give our third, fourth, and fifth graders a chance to show off all they've learned in their Magnet Monday electives at our Showcase at 1:30 in the afternoon in the former Flagstaff Middle School gym.

Bike To School Day will happen on Tuesday, May 20th.  If you're planning to ride to school with your child please consider joining our Bike Train at one of its Rt. 66 stops on your way to the school.  The "train" departs from Rt. 66 and 4th St. near the Aquaplex at 7:45, from Switzer Canyon and Rt. 66 across from Fry's at 8:00 and we'll rally at 8:15 at Wheeler Park to ride to the school together.   Remember: every bike in the bike rack counts, so if you're planning to ride with us, please consider leaving your bike in the rack for a while so that it gets counted along with all the others.

Finally, don't forget, there will be no school on Friday, May 23rd, another make-up snow day, and on Monday, May 26th, Memorial Day.  And of course, Thursday, May 29th, is the last day of school.  We will dismiss at 12:25 on Thursday, May 29th.

Thanks for listening everybody.  As always, if you missed any portion of this message, the text is available on our Facebook page and on the school blog: www.marshallmagnetschool.com or by calling 1-855-4REPLAY.

Goodbye.

The text of this evening's robo-call -- May 5, 2014

Hello Marshall families,

We've got several important updates for you, so please stay on the line to find out all about what's happening at Marshall during the first few weeks of the month of May.

Our Parent Teacher Organization will meet this Wednesday, May 7th at 6:30 in the evening in the Library. Please join us for this important meeting as we begin to lay out our plans for next year. Wednesday evening's PTO meeting, the last for this school year, will be a great opportunity for new parents and teachers to plug-in to our excellent Parent-Teacher organization as many of our current parent-leaders are preparing to move on to new endeavors next year. Please plan to attend and to lend a helping hand to the Marshall PTO as we look to the coming school year.

Don't forget: There will be no school on Monday, May 12th and Friday, May 23rd. These are both unused snow-days. Finally, It's not too soon to plan to ride your bike to school with your child on Bike To School Day, which will take place on Tuesday, May 20. If you ride with your child, please consider leaving your bike in our bike rack for a short time during the morning in order to have it included in the official count; it's our hope to win back the coveted Bike To School Day trophy, which has been in DeMiguel school's possession for the past two years. Last year we lost by just a few bikes. Every bike counts! Please: plan to Bike To School on May 20. Thanks for listening everyone.

As always, if you missed any portion of this message, the text is available online on our Facebook page and on the school blog, www.marshallmagnetschool.com. Goodbye.
