Our PTO will meet on Wednesday evening, November 6, at 6:30 PM in the Library.  We hope you'll plan to attend.  Childcare is always available during this one hour monthly meeting.

School will be dismissed for Veterans Day on Monday, November 11.  Please plan accordingly.

The Marshall School Science Council will convene in the new Science Lab on Tuesday, November 12 at 4:00.  If you're interested in planning and participating in science magnet related activities at Marshall you're encouraged to attend.

Also on Tuesday, November 12, we'll hold our monthly Site Council meeting at 5:00 in the Library.  The Site Council oversees the academic progress of students at Marshall as well as the expenditure of Tax Credit funds.  All Marshall stakeholders are encouraged to attend.

On Thursday, November 14, we'll hold our annual Explorations Stations night from 6:00 to 8:00.  This exciting night is a great collaboration between the school staff, the PTO, and a host of local scientific institutions.  Please plan to attend.

Picture retakes will take place on Wednesday, November 20.  More information about retakes will be sent home prior to this day.

And finally, school will be dismissed on Wednesday, November 27, Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  We hope you enjoy this extra-long weekend with the ones you love.

Thanks for listening.

Teacher Of The Year

We have so many amazing teachers working at Marshall School!

As the principal at Marshall, it's my good fortune to be able to watch as your students benefit from the excellence our teachers bring to their classrooms each and every day.

The Coconino County office of the Superintendent Of Schools informed us today that they would like to honor and recognize excellent teachers.

I can't think of a better place for them to find a few than right here at Marshall!

I'd like to encourage you, as a Marshall stakeholder, no matter who you are, a parent, staff member, fellow educator, or member of our local community, to nominate one of Marshall's excellent teachers for Coconino County Teacher Of The Year today.

The nomination form can be downloaded here.  Complete nomination forms can be emailed to or sent to 2384 N Steves Blvd, Flagstaff, AZ 86004 or faxed to 928 679 8077.

Deadline for nominations is December 31, 2013.

We'd like to update you on everything that's going over the course of the next few weeks at Marshall School.

First up, just a quick reminder that Marshall's annual fundraiser, the Mustang Gallop jog-a-thon, will take place during the school day this Friday, October 4th.  There's still time to collect your contributions!  Proceeds from this year's fundraiser are earmarked for playground improvements at Marshall.  Thanks for your participation in this important effort.
