Text of tonight's robo-call -- Aug. 14, 2013

Hello Marshall families,

On behalf of the entire faculty and staff I'd like to say thanks for making the first few days of school so great! We've appreciated everyone's patience, flexibility, and positive attitude as we've worked hard to get everyone enrolled and into their new classrooms over the course of the past three days. Thanks for making both our morning intake and afternoon dismissal times go so smoothly, too. Best of all: thank you kindergarten parents for being in-place yesterday to meet your child at the bus stop for the first time. No kindergarten students were returned to Marshall yesterday afternoon, the first day kindergarteners rode the bus with everyone else. We can't remember the last time that happened. Way to go!

We'd like to remind you that our FACTS program can supervise students before school beginning at 6:45 AM and until 6:00 in the evening and financial assistance scholarships are available to families who qualify. However, at Marshall, we're otherwise not equipped to provide supervision for your child before 8:15, when our two crossing guards go on duty, the cafeteria opens for breakfast, and our teacher-supervised morning outdoor recess time begins. Please don't drop your children at the school before 8:15 unless they are enrolled in FACTS. We appreciate your consideration in this matter.

Please, likewise remember, that the red-painted curbs near the school indicate zones where you should not park to release your children from your car. Please park in either parking lot across the street, or in the neighborhood beyond the school, the let your children out of the car in the morning. Flag PD can and will ticket you if you let your children out of the car in the red zones.

Last of all, please don't forget, Friday is always an early dismissal-day for all students at Marshall. We will dismiss all students at 12:25 every Friday afternoon. Please plan accordingly.

Thanks again for an excellent first-few-days! Well done, Marshall!
