A busy week ahead!

Hello Marshall families!

It promises to be a busy week at Marshall Magnet School this week.

Wednesday, October 3, is International Walk To School Day. We'd like to encourage all of you, as Marshall students and families, whether you typically walk or get transported to school by other means, to consider walking all or part of the way to school Wednesday morning.

A permission slip will be sent home with bus-students today. On Wednesday morning, all of our buses will stop at the National Guard Armory parking lot on Thorpe Road and let-off students with signed permission slips to walk around the ballfields and past the Short Pond to Marshall school along with teachers and parent volunteers. Bus-students who don't have a signed permission slip to hand to the driver in the morning will ride the bus to the school building as usual.

If you typically bring your student to school in the morning early for FACTS, there will be adults to walk with your child from the Armory to the school beginning at 7:45 AM. Likewise, if you typically deliver your children to school by car, you're also welcomed to drop your students off at the Armory to walk with a teacher or parent-volunteer beginning at 8:00.

Later in the day on Wednesday October 3, Marshall's Site and Science Councils will meet in the Library at 5:00 PM. The PTO will meet afterward at 6:30. You are welcomed and encouraged to attend each of these meetings.

Just a quick reminder that Marshall's annual fundraiser, the Mustang Gallop jog-a-thon, will take place during the school day on Friday, October 5th. There's still some time to collect contributions. Proceeds from this year's fundraiser are earmarked for playground improvements at Marshall. Thanks for your participation in this important effort.

Last of all, don't forget to register to vote. Monday, October 8th, is the last day for you to get registered for the upcoming election in November. We have voter registration information in the office, or you can register online at www.servicearizona.com.
