Traffic Challenges at Marshall School

Thorpe Rd.  is CLOSED
If you've been past the school in recent weeks you've noticed that there is a large-scale road construction project taking place on Thorpe Rd. just west of the school.  This Army Corps of Engineers project is ongoing and will conclude sometime during the fall semester, well after the beginning of the school year.  Therefore it will impact our vehicular traffic and pedestrian flow patterns significantly.  Please review the following pictures and graphics prior to the start of school in order to help make our pick-up and drop-off times work out in the best way possible.

You may click on any image to enlarge it.

Traffic is able to move easily in both directions along Bonito Street, Elm Street, and Navajo Road.
The parking lot on Bonito, west of the school,
is best-accessed from the South and exited to the North.

Traffic flow in the opposite direction into and out of the lot will cause delays.
The contractors have placed signage throughout the neighborhood surrounding the school.
Please take note of the signs and abide by these temporary reroutes.
Sidewalks on Thorpe Rd. are closed in both directions.
A temporary pedestrian bridge has been constructed north of the Francis Short Pond.
Walkers may access this bridge along the green path on the map above.
Please remember, the bus lanes in front of the school are always FOR BUSES ONLY.
Private vehicles are not allowed in the bus lanes.
Please do not drop off  or pick up your students in the bus lane during our hours of operation.
Thanks!
