Classroom placement lists are on the school's front window!  Two days ahead of schedule!  It's been so great having Mrs. Jimenez, our school secretary, back at work this week.

We can't publish class lists on the Internet.  Sorry.

Please rememberWe don't have a system in place for taking parental requests for teacher or classroom placements at Marshall because our fine teachers, who know your children quite well, spend hours and hours at the end of the school year placing each and every student, by hand, and with very careful consideration, into his/her class for the coming school year.  We do our level-best to give each Marshall student the very best placement possible, in what we believe are the most fairly balanced, diverse, well-constructed, and interesting classrooms in town.  We trust you'll give all of our excellent, unique, and highly qualified teachers a chance to impress you with their talents and ability!

The Marshall Magnet, our school newsletter, is is hot off the presses!  Published periodically throughout the school year, The Magnet is a lot like the blog, but on paper. For everyone, but especially for our families who prefer paper.

The Marshall Magnet: Issue One will also be included along with the other Marshall Student Information materials which will be distributed and sent home on the first day of school.

In the meantime, please feel free to enjoy this special sneak-peek at our school newsletter, The Marshall Magnet.

Traffic Challenges at Marshall School

Thorpe Rd.  is CLOSED
If you've been past the school in recent weeks you've noticed that there is a large-scale road construction project taking place on Thorpe Rd. just west of the school.  This Army Corps of Engineers project is ongoing and will conclude sometime during the fall semester, well after the beginning of the school year.  Therefore it will impact our vehicular traffic and pedestrian flow patterns significantly.  Please review the following pictures and graphics prior to the start of school in order to help make our pick-up and drop-off times work out in the best way possible.

You may click on any image to enlarge it.

Traffic is able to move easily in both directions along Bonito Street, Elm Street, and Navajo Road.
The parking lot on Bonito, west of the school,
is best-accessed from the South and exited to the North.

Traffic flow in the opposite direction into and out of the lot will cause delays.
The contractors have placed signage throughout the neighborhood surrounding the school.
Please take note of the signs and abide by these temporary reroutes.
Sidewalks on Thorpe Rd. are closed in both directions.
A temporary pedestrian bridge has been constructed north of the Francis Short Pond.
Walkers may access this bridge along the green path on the map above.
Please remember, the bus lanes in front of the school are always FOR BUSES ONLY.
Private vehicles are not allowed in the bus lanes.
Please do not drop off  or pick up your students in the bus lane during our hours of operation.
Thanks!

Mid-summer Updates

Hello everyone,

Just a few mid-summer updates:

The school office will officially reopen for business, including registration, on Monday, July 23.

We've been interviewing people all summer, and we hope to have the rest of our new teachers and support staff hired very soon. Once the teachers are all in-place we'll post the 2012-13 class lists on the windows near the front doors. Thanks for being patient with us! Our goal is to have them up by July 30.

Classes begin on Monday, August 13.

See you then!
