Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We're so fortunate here at Marshall Magnet School to receive wonderful support from our community to help us sustain and develop our unique, one-of-a-kind programs.  From our awesome PTO and their exciting annual fundraisers like the Mustang Gallop, to the many Marshall families who donate to our magnet programs via the state's Public School Tax Credit program, to the wonderful local corporations who, with their generous grants, help us underwrite some of our most popular programs, we couldn't do what we do without all of these generous donations.  And we want to make sure we remember to say thanks to those who deserve our gratitude.

At the moment, we'd like to recognize a grant of $1500.00 we recently received from the Arizona Lottery to help us sustain and develop our violin, dance, and drumming programs... and $1000.00 that we received from the National Association of Corrosion Engineers to assist us in furthering our science magnet programs... and the $750.00 we received from the Flagstaff Children's Museum to help us retain and develop our author-in-residency program.  A huge THANKS to each of these organizations for recognizing our school, our one-of-a-kind magnet programs, and our ongoing efforts to teach the whole child.

Special thanks as well goes to Janelle Reasor, our Arts & Science Magnet Programs Coordinator, who tirelessly pursues each and every granted and gifted dollar our school receives in order to make all of these special opportunities possible for each and every student at Marshall Magnet School!

Welcome, spring!

In case there was any doubt in your mind, there's now solid proof outside that spring has officially arrived at Marshall Magnet School: there are catkins on our aspens and new buds on the apple trees in front of the school!  Hooray for spring!

Lots going on around here and, as always, we want to make sure you're up-to-date with what's happening.

Our third-graders perform this evening, Thursday, April 29, at their annual dance program.  This year they've been working with Ms. Amanda from Flagstaff's award-winning Tippy Toes Dance Co. and we're very excited to finally be able to see what they've put together.  They'll perform tonight at the former Flagstaff Middle School gym beginning at 6:00.

Java by the Gym will happen again this Friday morning in the front entrance of the school.  Please come by, have a cuppa with us, hang around some, we'd love to say howdy!

Site and Science Councils will meet next Wednesday at 5:00 in the Library, followed immediately thereafter by our monthly PTO meeting at 6:30.  Everyone's welcomed to attend; it's never too late to get involved in any of these important groups.

AIMS and Stanford 10 achievement testing begins April 18th and runs almost daily throughout the next two weeks of school, through April 26th.  We'll be sending a few reminders home with your students about this, too, but in the meantime, please make arrangements to ensure that your healthy, well-fed, and well-rested children are in-attendance each and every day during the testing period.  Thanks!
